Here in Virginia we start back to school, virtually, on September 8. So much of that sentence just sounds so strange. Normally, we start back in August, so September 8 is just not right. And more news worthy than the date, we typically start back to school IN school. So much has changed since March. And we have adapted to so many new things in the last 5 months. But the thought of going back to school, in the living room, is still just too weird.
Our daughter will be starting high school. It's supposed to be a new season, a time when the kids come of age. And instead she will be making new friends and meeting new people in a virtual classroom via Google Hangout.
Even though so much has changed, we are still trying to hang on to our old traditions that we love and look forward to each year. I realize many kids have already headed back to their classrooms (our living rooms) and maybe your first day of school has already passed by. But if you'd like to use our First Day of School printable to capture a moment that's still to come, or you'd like to recreate the opportunity and capture it for your photo albums or scrapbook, here you go.
They are sized for 8-1/2 x 11 paper and you can trim them down to 8 x 10 if you'd like to place them in a frame for your kiddos to hold.
Be sure to check back in the spring, as we also create last day of school free printables to celebrate a successful year and to document those final days!
We would like to wish you and all your little people a wonderful school year! And while many of us our still #socialdistancing, here's to hoping we can get back to normal soon! In the mean time, remember that We Can Do Hard Things!
